Huawei's eLTE wireless private network solution is designed to meet various types of enterprise requirements in production and operation on a single network. This enterprise private network supports different access technologies to provide broadband, narrowband, and many other services.
The eLTE solution uses broadband LTE access technology and the latest 4.5G air interface technologies, such as 4 x 4 MIMO and 256QAM to provide a peak rate of 400 Mbit/s. At the same time, the ultra-low latency brought by the flat network structure makes it possible for the wireless network to carry industrial control services. The data access in high-mobility scenarios also avoids frequent service interruption on the existing network.
The eLTE solution also provides massive narrowband IoT access. Based on the latest NB-IoT standard, this solution uses technologies such as small-packet fast transmission and Slot ALOHA to provide an access capability that is hundred times higher than traditional networks. Such access capability meets massive small-packet collection and transmission requirements on the enterprise campus such as storage, logistics, electricity meter reading, and chemical oil and gas fields. The eLTE solution supports multiple radio access technologies on both licensed and unlicensed spectra.
1) The broadband LTE technology used on licensed spectra, such as 700 MHz, 800 MHz, and 1.8 GHz, now supports major industry-dedicated spectra. TDD, FDD, and other radio access technologies are adopted to fully utilize the existing licensed spectra of enterprises and develop professional broadband access networks.
2) The broadband LTE technology can also be applied on unlicensed spectra of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, which solves difficult spectrum application and high network construction cost issues. Meanwhile, technologies such as conflict detection and backoff, automatic frequency selection, and adaptive power adjustment, enable the unlicensed network to co-exist with the Wi-Fi network on the same frequency band. With simplified network structure and advanced LTE technologies, the latency are still measured at less than 100 ms in multi-user scenarios to meet the QoS requirements and ensure continuous and stable connections.
3) The narrowband LTE technology applied on the sub-GHz Industrial Scientific & Medical (ISM) spectrum can be used for enterprise private IoT. The frame structure definition is optimized to enable narrowband small-packet data transmission and achieve an access capability that is hundred times higher than traditional wireless networks. With technologies such as time domain repetition and power spectrum density (PSD) boosting, a wide coverage with a maximum of 10 km can also be provided. The introduction of PSM prolongs devices' battery life to a maximum of 10 years, satisfying the massive small-packet collection and transmission requirements on enterprise campuses.
