Recently we ran the HUAWEI Winter Giveaway, where we asked the public “If your smartwatch could do one thing in 2022 to make your digital life better, what would it be?” The Giveaway officially came to an end on December 31 2021, and our judging panel, having carefully assessed and verified the entries, has now announced the winners of the competition. There were 24 winners chosen in total, with 8 coming in first place, 8 coming in second place, and 8 coming in third place. The winners are listed below.
Place | | Country | Idea |
First place | ***tog98@gmail.com | Italy | The ability to identify the user's environment and adapt the smartwatch to it by using the data from every available sensor on the user’s smartphone. |
***gner@mailbox.org | Germany | Huawei watches could trigger and receive Webhook data from (messaging) apps like Microsoft Teams, Slack, etc. By being able to trigger Huawei Cloud Functions straight from the watch, generic workflows and actions can be enabled, which brings endless possibilities.
***uk.cetinfs@gmail.com | Türkiye | Huawei watches to include voice control for the situation when users cannot manually use them, and to create a digital audio guide to tell the time for visually impaired users.
***y.dosprazeres@gmail.com | France | Enable smart transportation to detect bikes and eCars available in the proximity and also check timetables for buses and metros.
***ertomartinezmarco@hotmail.com | Spain | To be able to change the temperature in your home automatically using sensors and heart rate monitor, or to change the temperature manually using a function on the smartwatch.
***uldavid1@gmail.com | Romania | A range of ideas to include integrating live translations; include a safety alarm; health diagnosis; more sensors; lie detector; recharge battery using the human body and the end goal to replace smartphones with smartwatches by using holograms for larger viewing.
***dzul@gmail.com | Poland | Customized voice-activated SOS messages to alert relevant authorities, along with current GPS location.
***s@live.com | United Kingdom | To add extra battery life to the smartwatch using solar and kinetic energy, with the possibility of transferring battery life between smartwatch and smartphone. Also, to include a small barcode scanner to scan food in order to receive nutritional values, calories or to be alerted of allergies you have previously noted.
Second place | ***olaye4904@gmail.com | Italy | Ambient computing, that is proactively doing things to make the users' life easier such as retrieving bus timetables and sightseeing routes. |
***fan-kittler@gmx.de | Germany | To link with public transportation to detect and notify the user of timetables relating to commonly used routes. To also allow users to pay on public transportation using the smartwatch.
***rmizioglu27@gmail.com | Türkiye | To integrate the smartwatch with smartphone games. While a mouse in computer games is helping in this regard, it is difficult to integrate the mouse because it does not have a counterpart in mobile games, but we can use our smartwatches as an aid in this. The smartwatch can show different displays that relate to mobile games and vibrate in relation to something in the game.
***.salah@gmail.com | France | Create a more efficient workout by allowing users to preplan their workout on their smartphones to include exercises, repetitions, and rest times, and linking the workout data to their smartphones to use with ease in the gym.
***tinmunozaguirre@gmail.com | Spain | Incorporate safety features into a smartwatch to include a hidden camera and safety alarm.
***lea@gmail.com | Romania | Allow environmental monitoring functions with virus index, an accident detector based on accelerometer sensor and emergency button.
***deyye@gmail.com | Poland | Reminders/to-do lists based on time, location, or proximity.
***edyne@hotmail.com | United Kingdom | To create a smartwatch baby monitor app. Further sensors could monitor baby respiration, baby temperature, and room temperature, which could also send alerts when required.
Third place | ***lipp.baumann1993@gmail.com | Germany | "Follow me" function for smart home products like speakers, lights, and so on. |
