app-ads.txt

NOTE

Currently, this feature is available only to apps released on Google Play.

Authorized Sellers for Apps (or app-ads.txt) is an IAB program that helps protect your app ad resources from ad fraud.

You can create an app-ads.txt file to specify sellers who are authorized to sell your app ad inventory, which helps you receive ad spend that might have otherwise gone toward counterfeit inventory of spoofed apps.

The app-ads.txt file is publicly available and crawlable by ad exchanges, supply-side platforms (SSP), and other buyers.

The app-ads.txt file is not mandatory, but is highly recommended if you are worried that others might be spoofing your app.

  1. Set up your developer website.

    The procedure is as follows:
    1. Sign in to HUAWEI Developers and click AppGallery Connect.

    2. Click My apps in AppGallery Connect.

    3. Click Release in the Operation column of the desired app.

    4. On the page displayed, click App information and find the Contact information area.

    5. Enter your website URL in the Website text box and click Save.

  2. Create an app-ads.txt file.

    1. Go to Traffic management > My apps > app-ads.txt.

    2. Click How to set up app-ads.txt.

      NOTICE

The app-ads.txt file must be formatted as specified by the IAB Tech Lab in order to be verified. If you need other help, refer to the Authorized Sellers for Apps specification provided by the IAB Tech Lab.

    3. Copy and paste the code snippet to your app-ads.txt file. If you do not have this file, create it as stipulated by the IAB Tech Lab.

If you want to add other authorized seller IDs to the app-ads.txt file, add these sellers' website URLs to the file so that they can find and verify your app-ads.txt file. Contact these sellers for their app-ads.txt information.

  3. Check whether the app-ads.txt file has been verified.

Wait at least 48 hours for the status of the app-ads.txt file to update.

After the app is added, the app information in the file will be synchronized on the app-ads.txt page.

  1. App name (app ID): app name and ID entered when you add the app.
  2. Source: app store where the app is released, such as AppGallery or Google Play.
  3. app-ads.txt URL: URL used to search for and capture the app-ads.txt file. The value is a combination of the domain name of the app store (such as AppGallery or Google Play) where the app is release and app-ads.txt, for example, www.*****/app-ads.txt.
  4. Status: status of the app-ads.txt file.
