Application Quality Overview

Design for eXcellence (DFX) is a general term for non-functional design of a product. X indicates a feature of the product or a phase in the product lifecycle. The HarmonyOS DFX subsystem provides a series of DFX functions to help you create high-quality apps and games. These functions include:

  • Design for Reliability (DFR): detects and rectifies faults such as app crashes and freezes, resource leak, and address sanitizer.
  • Design for Testability (DFT): provides logs, tracing, debugging information, and command line tools to support app observation and debugging.
  • Design for Performance (DFP): detects performance issues such as slow startup, frame freezing, and frame loss of the app, and provides analysis tools such as HiTrace and HiPerf to help you optimize app performance.

These DFX functions cover multiple aspects such as fault management, problem reporting, and problem analysis. The following table lists specific capabilities.

Scenario-based Knowledge Map

During development and O&M, if encountering issues related to stability, performance, and power consumption, you can refer to the following scenario-based knowledge map for analysis and resolution.

In addition to the development-state detection methods listed in the preceding table, you can also use DevEco Testing to test the app quality.
