Updating App Information-Maintaining an App-AppGallery Connect (HarmonyOS 5 or Later)

If you want to boost impressions and downloads of a released app, you are advised to update its details from time to time. You can update the basic information of an app without replacing the app package. After the update is approved, the app details will be updated.

NOTICE

If your app supports multiple languages such as Chinese and English, select the target language according to your update plan when updating the app icon, screenshots, or introduction. Then, update the app icon, screenshots, or introduction in the selected language. Otherwise, the updated content will not take effect in that language.

Before You Start

Release an app.
Prepare the following information:
- Compatible devices
- Basic information to be localized, including app languages, name, full introduction, brief introduction, icon, screenshots, and videos, and new features
- App category
- Your official website

Procedure

Sign in to AppGallery Connect and click Apps and atomic services.
On the app list, select the app to be updated to go to the app details page.
Go to Version information and click Update in the upper right corner. The New version - Draft menu appears in the navigation tree on the left.

In the navigation pane on the left, click App information. Update app details and click Next to access the New version - Draft page.

In the App version area, click Select version. In the displayed window, select the app package of the released version and click Select.
NOTE
Only an app package of the released version can be selected here. If you upload a package different from the released one, an update to the same version is not supported event if the version code of the uploaded package is the same as that of the released version, and in this case, you must update the app version.

(Optional) Set whether to encrypt the package.
Determine whether to encrypt the package based on your requirements.
- Encrypted: The package installed on user devices is encrypted, which is more secure.
- Not encrypted: The package installed on user devices is not encrypted, featuring a faster startup speed.
Update other app version information, such as the release countries/regions, basic localized information (full introduction, brief introduction, new features, and assets of your app), and payment information. For details, please refer to Releasing an App.
After updating the version information, click Submit in the upper right corner. The system displays a message indicating that the version code of the submitted app package is the same as that of the released version. Click OK.
After your request is submitted, the app status changes to Reviewing and the version number remains unchanged. After your request is approved, the app details will be updated to AppGallery.
