How the Privacy Tag Information Is Displayed on AppGallery

You need to configure privacy tags when releasing your app in AppGallery Connect, helping your users learn about how your app will use their personal data before they download the app. The configuration should include the personal data items that your app or third-party components integrated into your app will collect and the purposes for collecting such data. This information will be displayed to users on your app's details page on HUAWEI AppGallery.

Configuring Privacy Tag Information During App Release

To configure privacy tags, go to AppGallery Connect > Apps and atomic services, find your target app, go to Version information, and complete the configuration in the Privacy tags area.

You can select an option based on whether your app collects user data.

If your app does not collect user data, set Collect personal data to No.
If your app collects user data, set Collect personal data to Yes and complete the configuration for each scenario. Then you can view all the data items you have selected on the Summary tab page.

Selecting Data Collection Scenarios and Data Items to Be Collected for Your App

a. Select service scenarios in which your app will collect users' personal data. The following table describes the service scenarios.

Service Scenario	Description
App functionality	Provides basic app functions, security protection, app operations, and customer service.
Product personalization	Tailors app experience for different users.
Analytics	Analyzes user behavior to help you understand the effectiveness of existing product features and support service improvements.
Advertising and marketing	Displays ads or other marketing information in your app.
Disclosure to third parties	Shares data with third-party operating entities for purposes including, but not limited to: sharing with logistics companies for item delivery; sharing with third parties for advertising effectiveness evaluation; sharing with third parties for data display, assessment, evaluation, research, and reconciliation between cooperating parties; disclosure by third parties when they provide operations, maintenance, forum, social, or other related services.
Cross-border transfer	Sends data to operating entities outside the Chinese mainland.
Others	Used for other purposes not listed.

b. On the corresponding tab page of a selected service scenario, add data items for the scenario. The available data items are listed below.
