The SDK needs to be loaded to your app when you package the app. The SDK starts to run in the app process when a user launches the app and is stopped immediately after the user closes the app, without performing any additional operations in the background.
The SDK requires the following permissions. The permissions required vary depending on the application scenarios. For details, please refer to Assigning Permissions.
Checks the permission of obtaining network status android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Checks network connection status information.
Checks the permission of obtaining Wi-Fi network status android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Checks Wi-Fi network status information.
Some ML Kit services support two integration modes, namely full SDK and base SDK. For details, please refer to Integrating the HMS SDK.
When you use the full SDK service, HUAWEI ML Kit collects necessary data about API calls for statistics analysis and service improvement. You can inform users of the privacy policy in your app. In the base SDK mode, you can collect data after obtaining users' consent. The data to be collected does not contain any personal data and includes the following:
The HMS Core ML SDK and on-device service exchange data with each other using Binder. The security mechanism of Android ensures secure data transmission based on Binder.
The HMS Core ML SDK sends HTTPS POST requests to call the cloud service and authenticates the app reliability.
