Performing Multi-Process Debugging

On some devices, a UIAbility can run and be debugged as an independent process. For details, see Dynamic Specification. The following describes how to debug a UIAbility.

Configuration Before Building Your App

  1. Create an ability that inherits AbilityStage, which will serve as the entry point for the independent process.

  2. Right-click the ets directory and create any additional UIAbilities that need to be started as independent processes.

  3. Modify the module.json5 configuration file and add the independent process entry and the isolationProcess configuration item.

Debugging Code

  1. Write the code for redirecting to the UIAbility.

  2. Set a breakpoint in the UIAbility or at the entry of the independent process, and start debugging.

    When you navigate to a UIAbility that is started as an independent process, a new debugging session window will be launched.
