HarmonyOS Development Suite 26.0.0 Beta was officially released at HDC 2026 and was officially released on August 29. In this release, the version number format of the HarmonyOS Development Suite has been adjusted. For details, see Version Format Update Notes.
Based on 6.1.1(24), HarmonyOS Development Suite 26.0.0 further enhances the material effect of components to achieve a better immersive light effect, and adds multiple components implemented based on state management (V2). Ability Kit introduces modular objects based on ModularObjectExtensionAbility, allowing apps to expose their functions as modular objects for other apps to call. Core File Kit allows sandbox directories to be shared as system-level visible. Device Security Kit enhances the capabilities of RiskControlEngine and super privacy policies. Graphics Accelerate Kit adds the pre-launch feature to improve the launch experience of game apps. Notification Kit further enhances the notification management capability and display effect, and supports the ability to display the notification settings screen of an app in semi-modal mode. In addition, the Chromium kernel of ArkWeb has been upgraded from version 132 to version 144. For details, see New and Enhanced Features of the OS platform.
DevEco Studio capabilities have been further enhanced: API 26.0.0 projects are now supported; modules can be loaded on demand to improve code indexing efficiency; the Code Scanner tool has been added to check for resource leaks in an entire project; the UI effects of an app can be previewed at eight typical breakpoints simultaneously; a car device simulator has been added, which can be remotely controlled; devices can be projected to DevEco Studio for use; dump files generated upon app crashes can be parsed, and abnormal stacks can be displayed. For more details, see New and Enhanced Features of DevEco Studio.
Correct version mappings allow for a smoother experience in app development.
Before reading the version updates and changes, ensure that the version mapping is consistent with the developer suite you are using.
